Prof. N. Hasnain, M.A. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur is at present Professor and Head of the department of Psychology, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Prof. Hasnain started his career as lecturer in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in the year 1977 where he established Psychology laboratory in 1979. He left Jamia in 1980 to join Government Service in Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh and he was posted as lecturer at Government Postgraduate College, 
Pithoragarh (now a district of Uttarakhand State). From there he was transferred to Government Raza Postgraduate College, Rampur in 1992.

He joined Jamia Millia Islamia again in the year 1995 as a Reader where he is now Professor and Head.

Prof. Hasnain has guided 22 students for their Ph.D. degree. He has authored four books and one monograph, and edited three books. He has published 76 research articles and has directed and organized national seminars. He has directed many research projects sponsored by ICSSR and UGC. He has also published five psychological tests and is life member of a number of organizations. He has been expert on Board of studies and Research Degree Committees of many universities and has acted as resource person in many National/International seminars, conferences, workshops, Refresher and Orientation courses.
