Indian Law
You exist in the society. The society for its smooth functioning and frictionless working prescribes a set of norms for you. Your conduct is expected to conform to these norms. Such norms approved by non political entities, to judge the righteousness of your conduct these are called moralities. You are expected to conform to the moralities of that place and time. Non conformation may entail condemnation, criticism and disapproval at social level.
When these norms are prescribed by the political set up of society they are known as laws. You are required to comply with laws. Laws do not judge your conduct as right or wrong but they do it as legal or illegal. Their non compliance entails punishment. State power enforces laws on you.
The law and the morality both are external to the psyche of an individual. You don't have a choice to abide by the law or not. The same is true for morality. You are required to reshape your choices so as to suit the legal framework. You have to compromise your free will in order to be ‘as per law’. Law and morality also talk of ‘Free Will’ but that is only a legal fiction. You have to choose between the options provided by the law itself. You can never have an option to have resort either to the ‘Law’ or the ‘No Law’. The same is true for morality.
There are chances to go either way. Sometimes the laws suit your choices. It is helpful for you to attain your aims through law. You need to use law to make your dreams come true. Or you may find laws in your favor but circumstances do not allow its benefit to you. Such areas may be when a law gives you a right but the opposite party because of its influence hinders the benefits to come to you; you might face problems to find latest authorities in support of your case; you may not be satisfied with the professional commitment of the person hired by you for the purpose; so on and so forth. It is also a possibility that the law is not suitable to your psyche. It causes a friction between you and the laws around you. You are at the risk of facing punishment.
